YOGA- THE PRIMORDIAL WISDOM

YOGA- THE PRIMORDIAL WISDOM

Yoga has tremendous healing power which I experienced during my early stage of  life. Many people ask me, "What is Yoga?" What resources can they use to learn more about it?

I'll explain what Yoga is in this article and how it will assist us in accelerating our overall development.

Yoga is gaining popularity all around the world. It provides peace to the restless mind. It is a blessing for the sick. It is the current fashion for the common guy to maintain himself fit and healthy. Some people take it to help them improve their memory, intelligence, and creativity. It is becoming a part of education due to its numerous benefits. In their quest for perfection, experts use it to unlock deeper layers of consciousness.

The Sanskrit word (Yuj) is the verbal root of the word Yoga. “Yuj” means joining, युज्यते अनेन इति योगः (Yujyate anena iti yogah). Yoga is that which joins. In the traditional terminology it is joining of a (Jivātmā) with (Paramātmā) the individual self with the universal SELF. It is an expansion of the narrow constricted egoistic personality to an all pervasive, eternal and blissful state of REALITY.

Patanjali Yoga is one of the six hat darshans (Indian philosophical systems). Patanjali  gathered the basic aspects and concepts of Yoga (which had previously been scattered throughout the Yoga Upanishads) in the form of "Sutras" (aphorisms) and made a significant contribution to the area of Yoga almost 4000 years ago (as dated by some famous western historians). Yoga, according to Patanjali, is a purposeful process of achieving mental mastery.

The breadth of Yoga as depicted in the Bhagavadgita and Upanishads is much broader. "It is a technique of compressing one's progress into a single life, a few months, or even a few hours of one's bodily existence," Swami Vivekananda says. In general, every creation experiences growth as a result of interactions with nature. However, this natural growth could take decades or millions of years; in animals, this is the long, "instinctive method." Man desires to enhance his growth because he is endowed with discernment power, conscious thinking faculty (Buddhi), and well-developed voluntary control mechanisms. Yoga is a methodical conscious procedure that can substantially speed up the process of man's development.

As a result, Yoga is a systematic method for boosting a man's overall development. Man learns to dwell in higher states of consciousness as a result of this development. The cultivation of mind is crucial to this all-around personality development and evolution.
